Time to complete Excelsior?

  1. I need Micro and that is it for pre req's. I am an LVN, if that makes a difference. Just wondering if anyone knows how long it is to be expected to complete the course work. Any input would be great. I have been seeing stuff posted about completing in 6-9 months. This seems to good to be true.

Some people have finished their theory exams within 3-4 months. It just all depends on you, and the level you are on. Also, don't let procrastination get a hold of you (like it has me). But MOST importantly, EC is not about a quick nursing degree, you MUST master the theory, even if you could pass the exams, without actually learning all that you needed, in the long run (in your career), you WILL fail. Just remember that.

Also, you need to factor in the CPNE wait time. I think it is supposed to be anywhere from 4-9 months now, also you could possibly luck up and get a cancellation date. After you pass the CPNE, if you have completed all of your general req's (you have to have completed, 21 of the 31 gen ed crhrs to even apply for the CPNE), they'll get you started on the graduation process, and graduation are once per month.

It all depends on how motivated you are and how much time you need to study. I gave myself about a month to study for each exam. It has taken me 2 years to finish all of the courses. I am now waiting on a date for the CPNE. It has been 4 months since I sent the application in and I have not heard anything. I even did my application online!!
