Not sure this is the appropriate section for this question.... Can anyone offer advice or directions for surviving a statistics course? I'm in an elements of statistics course and currently failing. :-(

I need help super fast. I have attempted other options and am not having any luck. Thanks to all in advance!!

I suggest hiring a tutor. Also look into Khan Academy, they have great free videos teaching these basic concepts. Or withdraw from the course if you still can.

edmia thanks for the comment. I have watched the videos and can understand somewhat of the information. However I have to be able to use the excel format for these answers and solving the equation, I am completely lost with this. Thanks again.

Have you reached out to your faculty for extra help?

My first stat course was a nightmare because I chose one geared to business, so it involved doing all the math by hand. If was awful. Excel or stat software like SPSS is much easier, but you need a manual for the software. Try this link, looks like some help with the excel part: http://academic-publishing.org/pdfs/01c-xl-stats_extract.pdf

Specializes in Family Practice, Mental Health.

I did an online statistics course. I got really stuck at one point and made a plea to the online instructor. She Skyped with me and helped to clarify what I was having difficulty with.

Perhaps you can email the instructor? It's worth a shot, and no one will be able to give as pertinent information as the person handing out the homework assignment.

Best of luck.

Thank you both for the info. Yes I have been in contact with the instructor and have seen a few videos he encouraged me to use. I'm just against the odds and time is not on my side unfortunately. But I I'll continue to attempt every Avenue in hopes I can at least obtain a C. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for providing these resources. I'm currently enrolled in an intro to probability & statistics course, so these will be helpful.
