Online MSN programs for non nursing degree holders???

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Im looking for am online MSN program that would allow me direct entry with a non-nursing bachelors, prepare me for the NCLEX-RN exam and then continue on to pursue a MS in Clinical Nurse Leader...I understand that I will need to be in person for clinicals, but I would like to take all classroom instruction online; Is anyone familiar with a program like this?

Specializes in mental health / psychiatic nursing.

I don't think you are going to find a program like this. The number of direct entry MSN programs is pretty small and all of them (to my knowledge) require in-person time during the pre-specialty/ pre-liscensure portion of the program.

WGU offers a hybrid pre-liscensure BSN program, but only students in a few states are allowed to pursue this option. You can check their website to see if you live in one of the eligible states.

Specializes in NICU, ICU, PICU, Academia.

Those states are Indiana, Texas, California, Florida, and Utah.

Thanks... I did a little bit more research and with out me moving to another state my best bet is going to be to get an ADN at my local community college and then apply to a MSN program for those with an RN license and a non-nursing Bachelors... it would takes a lil bit longer but it gets the job done.
