I am currently attending Indian River State College in Ft Pierce, Florida. I like you have finished all my pre req's (like 2 years ago, lol). But I have realized from reading other posts on the school that I will stay with IRSC. I read that Exclesior is more for people who have worked in the medical field for a year or longer. I only just graduated and took my test in the last 6 months and I do not plan on working as an LPN because I am entering the RN program in January. Thanks anyway for the information! Have a blessed day...

BTW...The RN program is not a bridge program. IRSC got rid of their bridge program a few years ago, which really sucks for students like me!

Just found out about Lamar State College/Port Arthur today and have already requested my transcripts to be mailed to the school. I have been currently enrolled off and on with Excelsior since it was Regent. I am looking forward to a structured school which is what works for me.

    Calixan,

Are you going to be able to start next month? Is anyone currently in the program that may want to share some information with this discussion board?

    Thanks,

    Mike

i have a friend that is going to the lamar program and i assist him with his assignments. he has to have a rn with a bsn to walk him through various assignments such as assessments check offs. i have also assisted him with tutoring of some of his projects and it seems very in- depth. he has told me the reading and the course work are ridiculous but at the same time he has 3 kids and a full time job. to me it seems pretty right on target. i urge you to look into it
