Online LPN to RN/BSN programs

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

I have just successfully finished my LPN program, but still have to take my NCLEX-PN certification exam. While working as an LPN, I plan to continue my education to become an RN eventually, preferably with a BSN, which everyone seems to want you to have these days. My question is this: Are there any good ONLINE LPN to either RN or BSN programs out there that aren't too expensive? I am a working person who cannot afford to quit work to go to school, and I would rather be in a program that I can fit around my work schedule and my home responsibilities schedule, rather than try to bend everything to fit a school classroom schedule. Added to this is the fact that I am an older student (middle aged) and I have found a great deal of discrimination and blatant "ageism" in school so far. I've done online classes before and I love them. Never gotten a grade lower than a A in any of online classes in . healthcare or nursingAll of this age stuff is totally "off the table" and everyone is really and truly on an equal footing when you are online.

I'm considering University of Phoenix and it's online LPN to BSN program - U of Phoenix is tailored more toward older students who are already working so that seems like my best bet. Anyone out there have any experience with this program or suggestions on others like it? Thanks everyone.
