Drowning in the sea of online nursing programs.

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

I am 18 years old and have been in a nursing program for two years, (during high school) and I want to be an RN. I recently got a job in an unrelated field that I can't afford to lose. I have bills to pay and such. I am taking prerequisites in night classes at Hinds Community College, currently. I work from 8 in the morning till 5 in the evening so attending a traditional nursing school is not an option, but I still want to go to nursing school. Does anyone have any options for me? I am hoping for an accredited online nursing program. I hope someone can help me! Thank you so much! (:

I don't think online is the best idea for pre licensure. Do you have any nursing schools near you that offer evening/weekend classes and clinical? I went to my local cc and did just that. We had one evening of lecture a week and clinicals fell on the weekends. I did not work full time during school, bit many of my classmates did and they were able to be successful.

I haven't been able to find any programs like that here in the Vicksburg/jackson area. If I could find a program similar to Yhe one you attended, that would be a godsend!
