Nurses Criminal

Back in 2005 I was involved in an incident with my nephew. He was hitting my daughter and I separated them. During the separation he screamed at me not to touch him and pushed me against the wall and ran to a diff room. I immediately called his mother, who started yelling, "what did you do to him?" I told her I did nothing but take him off of my daughter and he pushed me, leaving a mark and is now running around the apt like a crazy person, pushing the other kids and screaming. I hung up with her and called the police. Little did I know that she was doing the same thing. Police came, questioned all of us, and arrested me because he put on an act of innocent sweet little boy with a scratch (which happened to be a scab he picked). Even after all the other kids and I told the same story(in separate rooms to separate officers) with his story being the only one different, they still arrested me. I was bailed out with $250 bond and went to court. Again, my kids and I told the same story to different people and were calm in the court, while my nephew and his mother acted out and told a different story. They ordered me to take an anger management class and expunged my record after that. I've been finger printed by the FBI in the state of MO since then, and held a license as a medication technician for the mentally retarded, as well as a pharmacy technician license. I have always answered no, as instructed, when asked if I've had prior convictions. My background has always come back clean. Now that I'm back in SC, I've obtained work in a wellness clinic as well as with a co as a caregiver. I'm a certified Med Tech for SC and am completing my CNA. I called the BON and Dept of Health and Human Services, explained my concern, and was told to answer "no" on my application because my record was expunged and that is what expungements are for. I also passed a background check with both schools I've attended. So don't worry too much, and when in doubt, call the school, bon, and anyone else to ask. You should be fine.

Oh, and my nephew, who is now almost 21, did finally admit the truth and apologize, as did his mother(after he did the same thing to her and his sister), and is currently being treated for a host of mental illness.
