Must I report this to BON (NYS)

Nurses Criminal

Published

I am so sickened by this.

I have been licensed for 2 years and was arrested last month for driving with a suspended license which was suspended for several tickets of the same offense of insurance lapse on a car that I did not own anymore. I saw the judge, plead guilty to an infraction. Was given a small fine.

I am wondering if I must report this arrest to the BON. I cant find out on their website. According to what I read, an infraction is different than a misdemeanor, and the attorney who represented m that night told me an infraction would not affect my nursing license but he is just someone they assign to you so I don't know how much he really knows.

Also I have just applied to a new job and I am so worried that the arrest will show up on the criminal background check and prevent me from being hired without them offering for me to give an explanation of what happened.

Any thoughts?
