MA student about to apply for board exam

I am about to apply for the nursing boards in Massachusetts. 12 years ago I had 2 misdemeanor marijuana charges without convictions. These charges did not prevent me from bring admitted to an RN program or participating in clinical settings.

The main issue is while in school I was charged with criminal harassment pending case of pretrial probation, a misdemeanor. Basically that means that I never plead guilty to the charges and the case will be closed soon with no conviction. This course of the case was short of outright dismissal due to not pressuring the chief of police or embarrass the police department by just asking to have charges dropped. Regardless, does this prevent me from applying for board exams? I have spoken to my lawyer however my lawyer does not specialize in this matter. I am concerned about the case being open and soon closed.

Does anyone have any insight?

I am kind of in a similar situation (kind of) 13 years ago I was charged with underage possession of alcohol in VA. I live in MA now as well and just finished nursing school. I filled out my application for the NCLEX today so the app. is still fresh in my mind. My advice, wait until the case is resolved. You may not have to report the 2 misdemeanors, the applications asks about convictions, not charges(but who knows with the BON), you can call the BON to clarify. The issue might be from the case that is still pending. The application for MA specifically says that if you have any open or pending cases, do not send in the application because the application will be denied.
