Im worried, I have one dismissed DUI on my record

Nurses Criminal

Published

Hello guys, I am so worried right now. Im currently in college, hoping to get into nursing program soon for my bachelors in Texas. My question is, can I still be a licensed nurse if I have one DUI, that did not lead to a conviction, it was dismissed. I havnt gotten in any other trouble and that happened two and a half years ago. How would it help if I got it expunged??

thanks Jory, I send you a message, if you don't mind replying it would be great! :geek:

I was arrested last year for being wrongfully accused of a DUI and got my charge dismissed too. I just graduated nursing school and I took my NCLEX-RN just last week, passed and just got the official license in the mail today. I believe you will definitely be able to take your boards and be issued a license, you register to take your license, and i don't know about your state (I'm in PA), but they only ask if you have ever been convicted, and you can honestly say no. Definitely file for an expungement like ASAP because they take forever! I was arrested last November and my date to get it expunged isn't until October. Now my main concern is hoping someone will hire me. I hope this helps!
