Good News from MD BON!

Nurses Criminal

Published

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to thank you for your comments and "God blessings!"

Everything worked out and I was issued my RN license today.

I know we cannot give out any "real" adivce here, but I just wanted to share my great news, and give everyone out there with a history, some hope for the future, and if you have to wait, heaven forbid, a week, a month, 6 months, a couple years, to get your license...if you really want it, you will wait, and it could happen!

I can't promise, but I can give you hope!

Blessings to all!!!

As one poster on here said: "Easy to get a license; hard to find a job."

Not only did I get my license, they wished me luck! LOL

Not trying to be negative, but blue-skying a dark cloud benefits no one.

Hi Tiger,

May I ask why you are having such a hard time finding a job?

Were you convicted or was it a misdemeanor?

...and if you have to wait, heaven forbid, a week, a month, 6 months, a couple years, to get your license...if you really want it, you will wait, and it could happen!

I can't promise, but I can give you hope!

Blessings to all!!!

Needed to hear some words of encouragement, good looks and God Bless you on your road to become a nurse...I'm going through a similar situation currently with the TX BON, because of misdemeanor(s) although none of moral turptitude...I have already received LA licensure so thats encouraging also... but I have faith I will be able to obtain my license in TX AND get the right nursing job for me. So anyone having to jump a few hurdles to obtain a license and/or gain employment, hold your head, stay encouraged, and be persistent because it will work out maybe not how you thought but even better than imagined...believe!!!

rnjessie,

Great news!!! How long did it take you to finally get your license? I have a hearing with the BON coming up after being denied, and I would just like to know what was the process that the board took you through. Al so, if denied by one state, are you allowed to apply for a license in another state? Or no?

Hi!

In my experience with the MD BON, my records were sealed, so all they needed was the court document stating so. After I finally found out that information (after 2 1/2 weeks of phone calls), they received my papers, reviewed over 2 days, and issued my license # in 1 day.

However, in transferring my license to FL, I am having to fill out and pay another application fee, do the fbi background check again, get the court documents again, and get 3-5 letters of recc.

So, now I'm in the process of that, but I'm staying positive, have been applying for jobs, even though I don't yet have my RN lic. in FL, I just add a note that I'm in the process (it doesn't hurt!)

So, chin up, it may take a while, but it's soooo, soooo worth it in the end!!!

Keep me updated, and I will continue to encourage everyone!

Blessings!
