Nurses Criminal

Published

Just a question...I finished my LPN school and on my application I did not disclose 3 records from 1995-2000. In that five years (which was a bad time for me) I received a DUI, worthless check, disorderly conduct, driving on suspended, and three other DUI's which were dismissed but still showed on the background check. My DON at my college said the BON is hitting me hard because I didn't disclose all records first go round. In order to test in OK (I live in Kansas and was told by my college that I HAD to test in OK) once I become licensed I will have a "severely reprimanded" license (before i'm even a nurse), 1,000 in administrative penalties, and complete a four hour nursing coorifice. I signed the Stipulations, Settlement Order. Now, come to find out, I can test for Kansas and apply to Kansas. Since i'm not even a nurse yet, do I have to report this on my application to Kansas?

Thank you newRN2013_77...I plan to disclose everything and leave it in God's hands as I have done thus far. Just so excited to start this new path! :)

Tell me if its easy for you to get a job with a severely reprimanded license?? Is it going to transfer over to your Kansas license?

Sure will let you know determinedgrl. :)

Hi determinedgrl...I am already working as an LPN in Oklahoma and I LOVE IT. I didn't get your personal message on her cause of the number of post I have not posted. At any rate...you can email me at [email protected] anytime! :)

Just checking in again. I received my Kansas license without any problems. I hope this has helped anyone in the future.

With no stipulations?

Did you get any stipulations on Kansas license??

No restriction. I just have to make sure to mark that my license has been disciplined when I apply for RN NCLEX

My RN license after a year long of stress and heartache is not severely reprimanded! God is good!

I am in a situation similar to yours. I gave the obn all documentation with application and it has been 2 months and I haven't hheard anything. How long did it take them to process your application?
