Change in speacialty

I've worked in corrections/drug & alcohol treatment the majority of my career, aside from 4 years as a CNA and 6 months as an RN on med/surg. I'm wondering how to go about moving into OB nursing. I would need pretty extensive training as most of my skills have slipped since working with medically stabled male inmates. I live near Salt Lake and there are plenty of OB job openings, but I just don't have the experience I need to submit my resume. Any suggestions?

Apply anyway...what have you got to lose? No OB experience doesn't equal no experience and there may be a manger that would be open to hiring without previous experience in that specialty. Good luck!!!
