What unit are you interviewing for?

My experience was pretty standard. Very basic interview questions- tell me about your past job experiences, why do you want to work here, what can you contribute as an employee, etc. That was with the recruiter. My interview with the department head was primarily conversational. 'This is a little about me, tell me a little about you, here's what the job is like, let's go four a tour of the unit, etc. etc.'

Just be professional, bring copies of your important documents, and be friendly. We're big on being friendly. Say hi to people, ask how they are doing, etc. Good luck.

Hi Ashley/ Beth Israel Nurse, Hi, Hope you are doing great. Pls i have some questions for the RN job interview. Your response will be highly appreciated.

How many nurses does Beth Israel have? How many beds in d hosp.? Is it 673 or 671? How many hours do you work per week? from what time to what time? what is the heirarchy of nurses e.g RN, Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, Supervisor, DON, Vice President? Is this correct? Who is the Overall nurse in charge of beth israel? What is the RN salary Range like?

How many floor/ Units in the Nsg dept? Does d hosp. have LPN and CNA? How many beds do you have in each floor. How do float pool RN s work? Any written exam during the interview? How many copies of my resume and Credentials should i bring. How many peeople will be the interviewers

Sorry dat i have too many questions. Dat was what i had wanted to talk of over the phone. Thank you so much. Expecting your respone soonest. :nurse:

Welcome to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center - Barnabas Health

Here is the link to the NBI website. They have lots of information about the hospital.

Remember that an interview is a time that you can ask questions as well, so bring a list to your interview. Your interviewer is not going to expect you to know specific information about the hospital. I just work there- I'm not an expert into the running of the hospital, so I have no idea how many nurses there are, how many units, beds, hierarchy or the salary range. I only have knowledge of my unit. I'm not part of the float pool, so I can't give you specifics on that.

It's a good idea to bring more credentials then you need, so plan on bringing one copy for each person you might meet. I'd bring at least three copies of each. You'll probably only be interviewed by one person, but you might meet with both the nursing department and HR. There is a medication exam that you have to take after you are hired (dosages as well as specific medications).

I don't give out my phone number to people that I don't know. Sorry.

Hi Ashley,

Thanks so much for the info.

The interview went well. Q: Narrate ur edu, experience, skills and interests . "Y" are U a good fit 4 dis position. How will u handle difficult pts. Was given drug list to study for test if hired. stuff for phy. exam. What does dat mean for me????

Nonyy- I interviewed this week also. Pretty much the same questions. The job I interviewed for was in the ED. How long do you think it will take for a call or email from HR, good or bad? I really liked the Beth, it seems like a great place to work. I received the same test and benefits package stuff. I guess they give that to all applicants? I hope it works out for both of us.

Hi- I also interviewed this week. I was wondering how they contact you about the position either way. Does the recruite call you even if you don't get the position? Do they send an email directly or mass generated when the position is filled? Thanks!!! I am still waiting to be notified :)
