Hi all, I am having an interview in an Orthopedics ward coming Monday. any advise would be appreciated. Many thanks. I promise I will share my interview with you girls afterward

1. Could you please tell us why you 've applied for this role and outline your career experience which be transferable to this position?

2. What would you consider to be your personal strengths & weaknesses?

3. We do team Nursing, what is your experience with team nursing? What are the key aspects that make up a good team?

4. We practice Bedside handover and use patient white boards.

What is your experience with these practices? What is the key theory behind Bedside handover and use of patient white boards?

5. Can you tell us about a time hen you have a patient made a complaint to you. What did you do in dealing with the complaint? what is available to help deal with complaints?

6. Can you tell us about a time where you are asked to perform a task that you considered unsafe or out of your scope of practice and what did you do?

7. A patient is transferred from ICU to your care, D2 total knee replacement. The patient is reporting pain score: 10/10 at rest. You review the medication chart and notice that all prescribed medication has been administrated. What are your actions?

8. Provide an example of how you assess, plan, implement & elevate nursing care?

9. Provide an example of where your effective communication skills within a multidisciplinary team has resulted in quality patient care

10. Demonstrate how you can ensure that your practice is of the highest professional standard with reference to the role of the ANMC competency standards, clinical guideline and hospital policies.

11. Provide an example that demonstrate how you have considered the rights of an individual or group

My advice would be to practice your answers to those questions, not just post them here and then use other people's answers. Now, if you wanted to post your answers for feedback, that would be different.

Oh, and "you girls"? You are aware there are many male nurses, and some of them are right here on this very website?
