Agonizing wait after peer interview... help please!!

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hello all,

So last Wednesday, I had my peer interview with 6 nurses for a med/surg position. I already met with the NM, then HR. The peer interview was the last step. 2 other people were selected for the peer interview also. It seemed that everything went well during the interview. Good eye contact, I was genuine but conscious of my answers and they were really opening up about the position, how to get adjusted to it, what to expect and never be afraid to ask for help. At the end, as I went to tell the NM goodbye, she let me know that I would hear from HR by next week (which would be this week). I know that they're looking to fill the position soon, orientations begins on Tuesday.

So my question is, when should I have heard back from HR if my interview was on Wednesday and all the interviews were completed by then? I know I'm working myself into a frenzy but I'd just really like to know at this point. Since it will be a week since my interview, should I call HR today?

Thanks for your advice!

How did it go?? Im new to the website so this answer is probably in vein at this point but I would have emailed the GM " I am following up on the vacant position. I am eager and hopeful for the oportunity to work on your unit. After the peer interview last week I was inquiring on how close you were to choosing a candidate"

You can always do a follow up phone call to the HR recruiter you spoke with. No harm there but avoid being the psycho app, calling several times a day. The email idea from above is really good too :)
