Hi there! Anybody here who has worked for RMC?

I have a pending application for their IVT training but sadly, even the nurses at the Nursing Director's Office do not know when will the next IVT class be. They just asked me to sign-up in a logbook and then regularly check with them for the schedule of the next class. It's been 3 weeks since I went there and the reason I want to take my IVT training with them is because first, I live 10 minutes away from the hospital and second, I was told by one of the nurses in RMC that once you're done with the IVT training, you'll be hired as a volunteer nurse as well. It will run for 6 months and then you'll be assessed if the institution could hire you as one of their employees.

Can someone verify this? I might visit RMC this afternoon to check the schedule.

Any input will be highly appreciated. :)

So how was your stay with RMC? Mind sharing?

No, not me.. my friend told me about it. He had IVT in RMC then volunteer for 6 mos. He said its worth it because he learned a lot from there.

Did he get some sort of a certificate for his volunteer work? Was he not absorbed after the 6 month training? Sorry if that may sound a little personal. I just really want to know what's going on in RMC. :)

Hi,

I'm from the pioneer batch of Nurse Trainee in RMC. Yes I can say that I have learned alot during my training days. We function as if we are Staff Nurses, because we do Suctioning, NGT insertion, FC, Iniated IV access, charting, and you will master your BLS as well, ECT... We were rotated monthly in different clinical and specialty area.

In our batch, all of us have backers before we become Nurse trainees. However, being hired as Contractuals doesnt guarantee. You need to have backer. Since I am from the first batch, we were asked to send our application for Contractual position and be prioritezed first if qualified. But untill now we're not getting any feedback about it.

In addition, since it is a Government hospital, "BACKER SYSTEM" is evident to be hired. To tell you guys, mid of our training program, a newly contractual was hired without undergoing any training. ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES. hehe

Anyways, all the best LUCK to us RN's. It is sad but true that you really need a backer even in some of the Private hospital. so, LUCK for us also to know someone who can help us.. . hehehehe PEACE...

Thanks danjoe_03!

That's really sad for qualified nurses. I still hope all the best for us nurses. ;)
