Sheateman: No, not yet. I had my panel interview last July 2011.. I'm hoping to have my final interview within this year and deployment maybe early next year. 3 years patiently waiting for the dream.

OT: I am actually working abroad now, but I am willing to go back and work at PGH. The dream of working at PGH is still very much alive.

    Patience is a virtue. ^_^
I do not mean any disrespect. But i'm just wondering why would you want to go back here in the philippines despite poor working conditions in the nursing profession. I admire you for your courage my friend.

    No offense taken @mistirdonat..

I know it's impractical to go back there, but as I told in my previous post that it is my dream to work for them (most people who knows about my plan/decision, are also asking me the same question). I guess achieving my purpose and finally landing in a career where I am truly happy is more important to me.

Financially speaking, I am trying to earn as much to secure my future during this period that I am still waiting for my final interview and deployment, so I won't worry about it if ever I will work for PGH in the future.

I don't know exactly how long it takes but any time soon they will call you to undergo the medical examination/ PA then you're in. Congratulations in advance bleuler. You're just one step away from being a staff nurse @ PGH. Hmmm I have a question though, how long did take them to call you for ?the final interview, when did you have your panel interview?

Thanks mikeru22! I passed my application in june 2010.. Passed the exam august 2010.. I had my panel interview january 2011.. Then i had my final interview december 2012.. So i've been in the process for almost three years now.. It's really a long and tedious process..

It has been a long and tedious process indeed but hey you're almost there. I feel really delighted thinking that although it really takes time to get in as a staff nurse at PGH, we surely have an equal opportunity to be evaluated based on our individual competencies and nursing prowess. I can say this because I am currently an RN HEALS Psychiatric Nurse trainee at NCMH. The sad thing is despite the remarkable credentials (I'm speaking not just for my self but also about a few people I know who have exemplary board rating and academic record), the Nursing Service couldn't guarantee us any slots for a staff nurse position simply because the backer system is so rampant that even the nursing service executives themselves are telling us that it really takes a really powerful backer to get in.

Oh by the way, in my case I took the NPE in January 2012, had my panel interview in October of that same year. Looking at it, I would probably have my final interview on the last quarter of this year or on the first quarter of 2013.

Yes, i think we really need to have tons of patience for this one.. Haha.. And i think it's much better if you got in without needing a "backer" because a different kind of sense of fulfillment will be there.. Haha.. Anyway, Godbless you in your pgh journey..

First of all, congrats bleuler! mikeru22's right, you're only one step away.

By the way, how did they contact you for the final interview? Did they sent an SMS or they called you? I'm really worried as I am out of the country as of the moment. I had my exam April 2011 and had my panel on July the same year. I am so excited reading the "success" stories of the people here, it keeps my faith alive.

And I do agree, it will really feel great if we got in without the help of a "backer."

Hope to meet you guys soon in PGH!

Wow thorabeech did you send them your updated contact number? You surely are on the queue and they will be getting a hold of you very soon. Bleuler had the panel interview in Jan 2011, you had yours in July 2011, it was just 6 months away from Bleuler's. I wish I had started earlier hehe.

@mikeru22: yup, I went there before I left to update my contact number. I also called them last month, and they told me they were already calling the people who had their panel interview on February 2011. Hehe, even if you did start processing your application late, at least you were able to get in the RN-Heals program in NCMH. It's a very good opportunity to work there while waiting for PGH.

@bleuler: Thank you and congrats again for passing the final interview. Hope they will ask call you for deployment soon.
