Metropolitan Medical Center currently hiring staff nurses

Hi! For those interested, just this morning I heard from a newly hired staff nurse in Metropolitan Medical Center that the hospital is currently hiring staff nurses. Sadly, I can't apply there for personal reasons.

Do any of you know other hospitals there in Manila or QC that are also currently hiring staff nurses without undergoing months of volunteer training prior to employment? Kindly inform me please. :nurse:

By the way, my informant said the give preference to chinese applicants.

Hello!

Is MMC still open for training? I'm a newly board passer and interested in applying at MMC.

Thanks

Hi! How did you interview go?

May I ask for some tips regarding the questions asked during the interview?

@fissure Hello! I'm new in this thread. I just want to share my experience. Just this afternoon, I was texted by Metropolitan to report this Friday (Nov.14) 8AM for an "exam and interview". My question is... Can anyone please give me any idea about the exam? Like how many items for how many hours? Difficulty level? I will greatly appreciate it so as to help other fellow RNs too :)

Hi guys..MMC surely hires new board passers. Regarding the exam and interview, well, there will be a nursing exam and IQ assessment. You have to pass those two in order to go through initial interview (done by the HR staff). forgot about how many items it was, bu it was pretty basic. Computations, multiple choice, conversion. Essay. Final interview is done with the chief nurse. Please be advised that sometimes, they will offer you jobs on other departments. I suggest that you do not accept it and state that you really want to apply as staff nurse.

@fissure Thank you for the info :) Yes, I'm a new board passer. Do you also have an idea what will they do if I refuse their offer to be in other dept? Will they actually hire me as a staff nurse or they will just let me go for refusing their offer? If I will be put in other dept, will I still have a chance to be an actual staff nurse?

No, they will still line you up for the nursing department. Sometimes, they will offer a slot in the admitting section and will say that that is the usual process. After 2-3 minths you'll get transfered to nursing dept. Some of us didnt accepted the offer from the admitting, but were still lined up for the nursing dept.

@fissure Let's say I declined their offer to be assigned in other dept, how long does it usually take before I will actually be called for the staff nurse position? Will it also take 2-3 months before they contact me again? I submitted my credentials on the 3rd week of October and I was told by the HR that the exams for nurse applicants was already done and I've read from previous entries in this thread that around September 11, training has already started, but they texted me to report this friday so I was thinking, since it's already 2nd week of November, is it possible that they will soon start another training for another batch? Anyway, I thank you for patiently answering my questions! ;) And another concern, will they pay me if I will choose to be in the admitting dept for the mean time? Just really want to know every side there is.

i dont know with that, because in our batch, it just took 2 days before they contacted us for interview for staff nurse position. it depends on their demand actually. you'll probably assigned to other departments with that. im pretty sure they wont conduct an orientation as of now. yes, they will pay you if you choose to be in other departments.

@ fissure So in your case, you were also offered to be in other dept, am I right? But then you declined the offer and just after 2 days you were contacted for the final interview, Sooo it means that even if there will be training for staff nurses already, they will still offer you to be in another dept? I'm so confused :( i just want to be a staff nurse but I'm afraid to wait more months for that :( How do you know that they wont have orientation this time? Do you have any idea when will there be another batch of training?

yes. yes. in our case yes. some of my batch mates in the exam started in the admitting department because they were offered a slot there, though i also agreed to work for the admitting department, they called me for a final interview with the chief nurse. i think they wont have another training since it was just last september that we started.

i dont know when is the next batch. sorry.

@fissure okay thank you for that :) Any tips for the interview? Any difficult questions? :D
