Makati medical center- cetn 2012

Hello, my fellow Filipino Nurses!

I'd like to talk about the CETN program in Makati Medical Center.

Last September, I was advised by a friend of mine who is currently a staff nurse in MMC, that they are already open for application for the CETN.

CETN is a training program for nurses who would like to work in MMC. This is NOT a direct hire post. Accepted applicants will go through 2-month training and then eventually, they COULD be absorbed/ hired as a staff.

This has been an on-going program in MMC for years now, but the difference this year, is that the nurses who get accepted will no longer pay the fee of 10,000 PHP.

The process that I went through started with submitting basic credentials like TOR, Board Certificate, and of course, your updated resume. They will screen the applicants from there, based on their board rating I guess, and the school you graduated from makes a big difference. You will be instructed to wait for their call, for usually 2 weeks.

In my case, they called within the week from my submission. I submitted my credentials on a Tuesday; they called me Friday that same week to invite me to come for the exam. The exam was scheduled the next Monday.

After the exam, you will undergo the initial interview. Mine was set 2 days after the exam which was a Wednesday. The initial interview consists of basic questions about yourself, your educational and work background (if any) and there are some personal questions too.

They instructed me to undergo medical examination that same day, and gave me a list of requirements to complete.

I completed the medical exam about 2 weeks after the initial interview. MEDICAL EXAM FOR CETN IS FREE. IT IS COVERED BY MMC. Should you withdraw your application though, they would require you to pay.

I was instructed to wait for a call/ text from HR regarding the schedule of my final interview; they texted 2 weeks after the completion of my medical exam.

The final interview went smoothly; it was a one on one encounter, not the usual panel interview. It lasted for 30 minutes. The questions were about nursing knowledge. They would evaluate how much you have retained and of course your application of that knowledge. Most of the questions were situational.

They called to inform me that I passed the final interview 2 weeks later. And asked me to wait for another call, as a go-signal to pass the requirements they asked me to complete earlier in the process. They also mentioned that the training would probably start in the first quarter of next year (2013), 2nd quarter would be the latest.

I asked a few questions, by the way, on that last conversation with HR. I asked whether we would be given an allowance or any compensation during training, how long the training would last and the probability and duration after training of getting hired.

They couldn't give me an exact answer regarding the allowance or compensation during training because they haven't finalized everything yet. The training would last 2 months and eventual hiring would depend on your performance and vacancies. All these would be evaluated first. According to my friend though, it will only take a week after training then they would call you right away for employment.

That was my experience. I'm still waiting now, they said they would probably call on the first week of January.

Please feel free to comment! I would appreciate more input regarding this. The forum I was following is already closed and I don't have any more resources. If you have any intel regarding the CETN program, please, please comment!

Hi! What are the specific requirements needed to get into makati med training program? Thanks

Hi! Do you when will the next COPN training start? Thank you.

hi guys! are they only accepting applicants from a reputable university? I graduated from a nursing school in Bulacan but got a pretty high board rating.. tia! :)

signed the contract today. they are already interviewing nurses for the next batch. pass your applications now!

here's what I've learned so far.. they screen your credentials first: board rating should be 80 or higher, came from a reputable school and hospital experience is just optional. once you've passed all the screening processes from credentials to exams and interviews. you'll be trained for a month under COPN. During training, just have a positive attitude and follow ALL the rules. never be late/ absent. You should be presentable, they are very particular with grooming. All these are just basics, it shouldn't be too hard for you :) GOODLUCK! SEE YOU THERE!

Hi, I would submit my initial requirements on May 17 since it's my rest day and it's also near the Medical Plaza where I go monthly for my braces adjustment. Based on the previous posts, I can initially submit my TOR, Board Rating Certificate from PRC and Resume however I am curious as to how nursing schools are deemed to be a reputable one. My TOR definitely is okay since I didn't have any failing grades, my board rating is also okay as I got a pretty decent average however the school I came from is a baby compared to its contemporary since it just started offering nursing in 2006. My alma mater was ranked 9th overall placer for November 2008 NLE next to RTRMS for 100 and more examinees category (I took the November '08 NLE) and since then it has been producing board placers but our over all passing rate has not been consistently above 80%, it usually ranges from 60-70+%. Would these things make the school I graduated from a reputable nursing institution?

Hello Everyone!

Thank you for those who contributed information here! ^^

I passed my requirements last April, and Makati Med sent me an SMS just this morning, informing me that I am scheduled for exams and interview this thursday! :dead:

I can now feel the adrenaline rushing through me. :blackalien:

May I ask for tips and advice???

What is the focus of the exams and final interview?

Thank you and God bless us all! =)

Hello The White Wizard, Good that you have been messaged already.Did you apply for training or a staff nurse position?

Hi! I'm from the Visayas. Is there a way that I can submit my credentials via courier or email? Do you guys think that's possible?

Hi @Rob09! ^^

Actually I don't know if it's for training or staff nurse position because I just passed my resume to the HR personnel, but I guess it's for staff nurse position because the SMS that they sent me indicated that I am qualified for staff nurse position. :D

Hi samlovesjam! I'm not sure but I encourage you to visit their webpage at: http://www.makatimed.net.ph

Phew! :dead:

So this is how my (and the others') day went at Makati Med this morning.

First we took the exams, there were about 8 of us who took the exams this morning, but I don't know if there are other batches. All of us had the same situation: we received an SMS last tuesday.

There were three exams:

1st is verbal (find the*******)

2nd is mathematical (this exam should've been easier if it weren't for the 10min time limit :roflmao:)

3rd is IQ test

After those exams we were asked to wait outside the examination room for a few minutes for the results.

Fortunately all of us have passed. :)

Then we were asked to return to the examination room to take our personality and nursing exam.

The nursing exam was taken on a computer, i believe it is internet-based since they use Internet Explorer for it. It was a 25-item exam, and had very random topics, from *** to *** to *** to ****. (at least those were the topics in my exam.)

To blair111, ****, good job for being accepted to the COPN!

I hope I do too...;)

May I ask what questions were asked in the initial and final interview?

Please give me tips and advice. Thank you very much! May God Bless us All!

Oh, I forgot, all of us were scheduled for an interview tomorrow morning. :dead:
