Makati medical center- cetn 2012

Hello, my fellow Filipino Nurses!

I'd like to talk about the CETN program in Makati Medical Center.

Last September, I was advised by a friend of mine who is currently a staff nurse in MMC, that they are already open for application for the CETN.

CETN is a training program for nurses who would like to work in MMC. This is NOT a direct hire post. Accepted applicants will go through 2-month training and then eventually, they COULD be absorbed/ hired as a staff.

This has been an on-going program in MMC for years now, but the difference this year, is that the nurses who get accepted will no longer pay the fee of 10,000 PHP.

The process that I went through started with submitting basic credentials like TOR, Board Certificate, and of course, your updated resume. They will screen the applicants from there, based on their board rating I guess, and the school you graduated from makes a big difference. You will be instructed to wait for their call, for usually 2 weeks.

In my case, they called within the week from my submission. I submitted my credentials on a Tuesday; they called me Friday that same week to invite me to come for the exam. The exam was scheduled the next Monday.

After the exam, you will undergo the initial interview. Mine was set 2 days after the exam which was a Wednesday. The initial interview consists of basic questions about yourself, your educational and work background (if any) and there are some personal questions too.

They instructed me to undergo medical examination that same day, and gave me a list of requirements to complete.

I completed the medical exam about 2 weeks after the initial interview. MEDICAL EXAM FOR CETN IS FREE. IT IS COVERED BY MMC. Should you withdraw your application though, they would require you to pay.

I was instructed to wait for a call/ text from HR regarding the schedule of my final interview; they texted 2 weeks after the completion of my medical exam.

The final interview went smoothly; it was a one on one encounter, not the usual panel interview. It lasted for 30 minutes. The questions were about nursing knowledge. They would evaluate how much you have retained and of course your application of that knowledge. Most of the questions were situational.

They called to inform me that I passed the final interview 2 weeks later. And asked me to wait for another call, as a go-signal to pass the requirements they asked me to complete earlier in the process. They also mentioned that the training would probably start in the first quarter of next year (2013), 2nd quarter would be the latest.

I asked a few questions, by the way, on that last conversation with HR. I asked whether we would be given an allowance or any compensation during training, how long the training would last and the probability and duration after training of getting hired.

They couldn't give me an exact answer regarding the allowance or compensation during training because they haven't finalized everything yet. The training would last 2 months and eventual hiring would depend on your performance and vacancies. All these would be evaluated first. According to my friend though, it will only take a week after training then they would call you right away for employment.

That was my experience. I'm still waiting now, they said they would probably call on the first week of January.

Please feel free to comment! I would appreciate more input regarding this. The forum I was following is already closed and I don't have any more resources. If you have any intel regarding the CETN program, please, please comment!

Hi Episiotomy., I just want to ask if the requirement in CETN and COPN the same? I was thinking of passing my resume too... by the way, congrats in your training ang goodluck!

Good day. to those asking about the training, so far so good :)) we are enjoying it! the staff nurses in each unit are very accommodating same goes to the nursing service staff (our main preceptors / training officers). So, for the first week we had our lectures / didactic. then for the remaining 3 weeks we will be rotated in different units. Regarding the uniform, in the HR dept. they told us not to buy, just wear our previous uniforms from our alma mater but just make sure its all white, as in WHITE, because they are very particular when it comes to grooming, so make it a point to wear your 'best' uniform, not unless you want to hear some side comments :) But during our didactic, we are asked to buy the prescribed uniform for makati med, the ones with embroidered logo and names. and while waiting for the release of our uniforms we are still allowed to use our old ones. and lastly, to those asking about the requirements, i believe they are just the same. i can still see some drop boxes where you can drop your resume, one is near the cafeteria beside DQ i think or you can go directly at the HRD (6th floor, tower 2). I hope we can all make it. Good Luck to all of us :)

Hi! Thank you for the information! :) Last question, while waiting for the uniforms from the hospital, you can wear your old college duty uniform? Thank you again! :)

Passed my resume 2 weeks ago but still got no calls from them

I passed mine late September. I could have been included in the first batch but I had some problems with my medical.

Hi Chibichibi may I know what are the procedures made for the Medical Exam?

Thank you very much ^_^

good day. Just to give you an update guys, CETN have been replaced by a new program which is COPN or also know as Comprehensive Orientation Program for Nurses. Basically those two were just the same, the only difference is that in this new program we will be undergoing one (1) month of training instead of three (3) months (CETN), and another thing is that with this new program we are not going to pay anything (which is a good thing :) ) As of now we are the first batch of this particular program and earlier this morning we had our first day of training. with regards to the application, i'm not sure if they are still accepting applicants but if i'm not mistaken i have seen some nurses still submitting their resume. Try submitting it personally at HR, anyways there is no harm in trying, right? :)

So.. Good Luck to all of us! God Bless :)

Hi Episiotomy, Would it be okay if I'm going to pass my resume today? Is there a possibility that I will be included in the training?

Passed my resume 2 weeks ago but still got no calls from them

me too, i passed my resume 2 weeks ago. :(

anyone here who passed their resume january 1 onwards? did they contacted you for exam?

i'm not sure guys when will they call you. in my case, i went directly at HRD (before lunch i think,) after i handed out my resume the guy at the front desk told me they will just contact me (he didnt even bother looking at my resume and place at the bottom part of the compiled papers) then that same day around 5pm i think, i received a call from MMC telling me that i am scheduled for an interview. my point is, even if you think they are not even browsing our applications, they do. :) so i encourage you guys to pass, there is no harm in trying :) and for chibichibi, yes we are still using our college uniforms, but earlier this day they have already released our MMC uniforms :))

Hi EPISIOTOMY! What kind of shoes are you allowed to wear? Can I wear all-white rubber shoes (with lace) like Skechers? Thank you! :)

Hi Chibichibi may I know what are the procedures made for the Medical Exam?

Thank you very much ^_^

Ahmm, the usual: CBC, UA, fecalysis, drug testing, PPD, dental, X-Ray, etc. Just the usual stuff. :)
