Nursing travel agency in canada

World Canada

Hi fellow nurses! I recently applied to solution staffing and select med connection agency in canada. I want to work in BC specifically.I currently have a license in montreal, quebec. Any reviews , advice or comment about this two agency or about travel nursing would be greatly appreciated. I am not hired yet but really considering. Thanks a lot!

I knew a nurse who worked for them, she was happy with them. Their pay rates were below what other agencies were paying for elsewhere in Canada, though, but that might have changed, as that was a few years ago. If you are interested in other parts of Canada, you could likely make more elsewhere.

I've had friends who have worked for both agencies. No issues. The pay is not great at any agency.

When you analyze the pay (45-50) per hour, many nurses make this wage with shift differentials. Sure, you get per diems for agency work, but no benefits. Also, many of the contracts are at facilities where they can't attract or retain staff. All those variables should be considered.

However, if you enjoy travel and you desire the experience, go for it. Some people really enjoy travel nursing. My friend worked for Select for 4 years.

Thanks! Do you know any other agency? I'm from montreal and our pay here is 50% lower than what they are offering. It's a big difference at least from here.

True. I'm in AB so the wages that are offered by the agencies is similar to what I'm already making.

I only know of those agencies, but the pay is more or less the same regardless of who you sign with.

@joanna, You guys make more than we do here. I'll try it and see how it goes. I'm spending a lot already like for background check, processing of license in bc, etc. I just hope it's worth it. I work in OR so I'm planning to do the same in BC. i really really want it to work out.
