Nursing shifts at Scarborough General

World Canada

Published

Anyone here who works at Scarborough General as an RN or RPN and know what the nursing shifts are? Not sure what the hours are for Days, Eve, Nights. I'm starting with the NRT and will be assigned to Med/Surg. thanks!

Pretty much every place I've ever worked is:

days 07-15

evenings 15-23

nights 23-07.

Twelves have run 07-19 and 19-07.

Give or take 15 minutes due to contracts.

Call HR and ask.

Specializes in Acute Care, Rehab, Palliative.

Our 8 are ahead of Fiona's by 30 minutes ( e.g.0730-1530 etc)

What is NRT?

Lori, NRT is an abbreviation for "Nursing Resource Team" it's essentially the new term used for a nursing float pool within a few hospitals around the GTA (not sure if it is widely used elsewhere).

OP - start times may differ from unit to unit. However I have typically heard of day shifts starting at either 0700, 0715 or 0730 so it would be safe to assume something within that time frame. Since you got the job it doesn't hurt to ask. Call HR or call the clerk on the unit explaining you are a new hire and would like to know. Good luck and congrats on the job!
