Hey Guys

I need your advice. I have graduated the rpn program and got certified with the cno in 2015. Since than i have done odd jobs here and there. None really using ivs or special techniques... I havnt been able go find work. I have looked 1 hr both ways of where i live. I have completed Coronary Care 1. And nothing. I am now getting nervous that im looking my knowledge and skills.

I have gotten my resume professionally donr as well as my cover letter. Im getting pretty hopeless....

Anyone have any tips?

Tips of the job hunt? Or on how to ensure i dont loose any knowledge or skills for when i do finally get in?

Thank you so much!!!

Sincerely

Rpn2015

The odds of finding a job are better with LTC than acute care, I don't understand the logic of taking a coronary care course, your resume might be more appealing to LTC employers if you took a geriatrics course.

HI OP!

I started out in the nursing field as an RPN in 2012 and honestly! I could not find a job as an RPN, I handed my resume out everywhere and got a call back (Like once every 4-6 months) those were all at Complex Continuing Care facilities and I bombed all those interviews due to my anxiety.. :( I only managed to work with an agency here and there but it wasn't really consistent. Fast forward a few years and I now have my degree in Nursing and since I have been applying for RN jobs, between May and August I have had SEVEN call backs from my applications and 4-5 interviews!!! when as an RPN I could barely get any contact, this ust tells me that there is a much larger market for RNS then there are RPNS so I would highly recommend going to get your degree if you can! Best of luck to you!
