has anyone ever got into trouble doing a funny blog or book about the stupid people we deal with and dumb stuff people say? i know better than to rip the hospital at which i work but just funny stuff. Guy came into ER for hair loss kinda stuff.

Yes, this kind of thing can lead to trouble ranging from deterioration of workplace relationships to serious consequences for employment. I have also learned from experience that the general public does not often share in the humor that we do.

Having said that, there are a number of take-no-prisoners but gut-busting funny blogs out there written by folks of every medical stripe - nurses, physicians, pharmacists, EMS, etc. If you're contemplating this, give serious consideration to your pseudonym and what details you can alter to prevent identification.

needless to say, that's why it's called "nursing humor" only another nurse would be able to understand or relate if you will, to our sense of humor. having said that, i will reenforce what the previous poster stated, the general public at times don't seem to have or can't relate to our nursing humor at times. wishing you the best always....aloha~
