Do hospitals hire new grad RNs without prior hospital/clinical experience such as volunteering?

I wouldn't say it's impossible. It's all about who you know and how desperate "this hypothetical" hospital you are thinking of is (hardly). The reality is that less then 50% of new grads are getting jobs within few months after graduation. Some hospitals have not hired new grads for over 5 years and when they do only a hand full of positions are posted mostly filled by internal applicants who were formerly CNA's and are now RN's. No to mention that 1000+ new grads apply to one position. This might change in the future but no one knows when.
