Clinical Privileges?

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hi everyone, I am a new grad who recently passed NCLEX and I am trying to fill out a job application and I don't know how to answer this question: "DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE OR HAVE YOU EVER HAD CLINICAL PRIVILEGES AT ANY HEALTH CARE INSTITUTION, AGENCY OR ORGANIZATION?" What does this mean? I haven't worked as an RN yet. Does clinical rotations during nursing school count? Thanks.

What an odd question. Maybe they are using a 'one size fits all' for (employed) physicians, NP, PA's and such. The only instances I can think of when this would apply to a nurse would be those who are employed by a physician & expected to interact with that doc's patients when they are in the hospital; you'd need to be credentialed via med staff to do that.

My advice? Just answer the question "no" or "N/A".
