Hello educators. I plan to get a MSN. I have a bachelors degree already and will be graduating from LPN school in August. Is there any school, preferably online, that would be a good match for me?

Try SUNY at Stonybrook (NY). They have an online MSN program, and I am pretty sure they will consider a non-nursing BS (I know they did a few years ago). Last I knew, their online MSN programs were limited to NP programs only, but that may have changed.

But wait, I think you need to be an RN (just saw the LPN written in your post). Not sure if they would take you.

On that note, I know there are direct-entry masters programs, who take people with other degrees. I know Columbia University has that (but it is NOT online). I really don't think it matters that you have your LPN. If you can't get inot one like that, I would seruiously consider getting your ADN or your BSN, b/c I don't think the LPN would give you any advance standing.

BTW, Stonybrook has a BSN online as well, if that helps you at all.

i think with the LPN you will be looking at a MEPN (master's entry into nursing practice) program. you will be repeating the fundamentals concepts but in 2 years will have a master's in nursing and be eligible for the RN boards.
