What are some nursing jobs that involve a lot of travel?

Nurses Career Support

Published

I like the idea of being on the move. I love flying and don't mind all the hassle of going through airport security, checking in, etc.

It seems like a consultant job would fit the bill, but can you guys think of any others?

I would love something in the middle east or Caribbean. Not concerned too much about safety. How tough is it to get in to one of these positions? Do you know of any reputable hospitals or agencies?

I only speak English, unfortunately...

Cruise ship nursing, maybe?

I've heard that it is pretty competitive despite the low pay. I am thinking along those lines though! Any other ideas?

I just read about the Mercy Ship and it sounds life-changing. Basically, as a nurse you can volunteer to go to Africa to provide healthcare off of a ship. You can stay as little as 2 weeks I believe and as long as years. This is purely volunteer work though, so you couldn't make a career out of it. But it could be a really cool short term trip. I believe 2 years experience in an acute care setting is required.
