Hello everyone,

I am a recent graduate and living in Ohio having trouble with finding a job :-//. I am 24, engaged, no kids and I was seriously considering travel nursing and wondering what everyone thinks of it...

Good experience for a recent graduate?

Anyone who does it?

Is it worth it?

What agencies are good to work for?

Pros and cons?

Were you hesitant working as a traveling nurse?

I Just would like some information on travel nursing based on fellow nurses who have experienced or are currently doing it.

TERRIBLE idea for a new grad. A travel nurse gets, at most, one to two days of orientation and is expected to function as a full member of the staff from day #3 onward. Agencies require a minimum of a year's experience to even be considered.

Sorry to deliver bad news, but that's the reality. I know it sucks to be a new grad right now....

By traveling nurse, do you mean homecare nursing? It is true, I started in homecare as a caregiver, moved to c.n.a and now working on r.n..when you start as someone who travels around..it's tough to be facilitized..which is what I am going thru now..adjustments...as far as time managment..I find a wing full of people in 8 hours is just as difficult as travel. I think it requires a broader level of attentiveness of a group of people instead of one person or a group of every 2-3 hours..just diff..
