Skill building for integrated complementary healing track

Nurses Career Support

Published

I will be applying next year to the masters entry program in nursing at UCSF. Within the ANP program, one of the specialty areas is integrated complementary healing. I'm very interested in this field, but not sure what I can do to gain experience in it to strengthen my application to the program and strengthen my eventual practice of nursing. Does anyone have ideas?

Thanks!

have you checked out AHNA? They would have tons of ideas I bet.

I always get confused between complementary/holistic/and alternative because they all seem the same to me. If you can do it, get some training in the alternative modalities. I do Reiki and it changed the way I look at just about everything. Opened my mind. See if you can find some continuing ed classes in areas you are interested in. Maybe some lectures, talks, meetings etc that talk about different aspects and from there you can network to find what interests you.

Good luck! :)
