Nurses Career Support

Published

i am a graduate who is currently studying to take the nclex in the next month or so in new york state. i have already worked as a graduate nurse (but ran out of time to take the nclex), and have worked as a cna for the past 5 years before that. i am currently exploring options to work in other areas of the us. i would like to possibly either leave nys or leave the state.

my question is number one... am i putting myself in a difficult position by taking the liscensure in nys and then moving out of state? and number two... any suggestions of where would be a good place to go for pediatric oncology?

thank you for all your help!

I would not do one thing until you actually take and pass the NCLEX exam, it will serve you no purpose to do so. Whether you take it for NY and endorse, or take it initially for another state, but NY already had your documents, so it would be easier that way.

Once you pass the exam, then you can do whatever you wish, but concentrate on that first....then proceed with job hunting.

thank you suzanne for your reply to my post. It was very helpful!
