Hello,

I have an MBA, working as Director of Operation doing just fine. I am interested to get into nursing. Can I get admission to accelerated BSN or MSN, if so what are the pathways like testing, pre-requisite and the school for accelerated programs, currently making about 63K will BSN or MSN pay more than that??? please help if anyone went through this route. Thanks!

Welcome to Allnurses.

Accelerated programs are for those with a degree in another field. So yes, you qualify for those programs.

Each school has their own requirements, but maybe someone else whom has done an accellerated program can tell you the testing, if any, they were required to take.

What sometimes is hard for a person from another field, particularly one of leadership such as yourself, is that starting in nursing you're going to qualify for entry level positions, taking direction from others (often much younger than yourself) and not for top dollar.

Salaries vary by region (west and NW paying the most, and NE paying fairly well also) and by job and hours worked (i.e. 3 12 hour shifts vs. 5 8-hour shifts).Currently, I do make more than $63K in Florida, with 16 years in the field.

Good luck. Feel free to ask us any questions you have.
