post-resignation jitters

Nurses Career Support

Published

To start with, I would like to seek for your professional advises, especially from those who are experienced enough in the nursing field. I am planning to pass my resignation letter, a week after my vacation. I am currently working in a tertiary hospital in KSA, at General ICU. At 27, I have been assigned in the area for almost 5 years now; Career advancement is the main purpose of mine why I decided to do so, plus a healthy working environment; I have also been exposed to various critical cases,such as in medical,trauma and surgical cases, which I think are not bad after all;

The dilemma is that, it is my first job, and as i am planning to leave, confusion strikes on where or how will I start to secure a new job; I am planning to apply somewhere in UAE, a free mid-east country, specifically Dubai, yet I have also interest in applying to other western countries like Canada or US; What and where should I prioritize, based on the latest trends nowadays in nursing job "huntings"?

A piece of your mind with regards to this matter will be highly appreciated, my dear colleagues.. :)

Specializes in ICU.

I have no idea what the job market is like in other countries, but in the US sometimes even experienced nurses have trouble finding jobs, so I'd say the best advice I can give you is not to resign from your current job until you have another job lined up. Good luck, regardless of what you choose!
