NYU Langone New Grad Interview Process 2017

So I'm a licensed new graduate nurse coming from outside of New York. I applied to NYU Langone and was contacted the very next day by a recruiter. Long story short, she emailed me, we talked for a bit, and she asked me for my availability to speak on the phone. I was completely surprised because I didn't think they would even look at my application since I'm licensed outside of New York!

Anyways, I have a phone call set up with her in a couple of weeks and don't know what to expect because she didn't really say what it was going to be about. Is this going to be like an interview type of phone call? She didn't say it was an interview so I'm guessing she's just calling to get more info. Do you guys this will lead to an in-person interview? Should I go ahead and start applying for my New York nursing license? I don't want to apply and pay the fee if I don't even know if I'll be invited to interview.

What is the interview process like at NYU Langone for new grads! Please let me know!

@moomoo-lop I am in the same situation! I recently applied and the next day received an email requesting to set up a time to speak on the phone. Did you already talk with her on the phone?

Hey! Yes I did already speak to HR on the phone and then also did an in-person interview with HR. Have you done the same?

I am speaking with HR on the phone on 11/10! That's the date that worked best for her. What was the phone call like? Was it like an interview or just asking what unit i'm interested in etc?

Sorry for the late response! But it's just a basic phone screening to make sure you're a good fit. Doesn't last very long and she is very friendly! Let me know how it goes :)

Hm you don't have to prepare much because it's just a phone screening to get to know you. It lasts maybe 10 minutes or so! I had my phone screen with HR and my in-person interview with HR in October! Unfortunately, they tried to get me into the October interview day date but I missed it and it was full. They told me they're planning another interview day soon so I'll be able to go to that but it won't be until sometime November. Let me know if you find out more details on an interview day!

Hey guys. I'm on the same boat. I applied in September heard the next day. She told me to call her on Nov 16th for phone screen. I was asked basic questions and she told me she's having an interview event in Dec that I am invited to. I just have to wait for her email for it. She said it'll be sometime during mid December but I don't know what day that is so I emailed her this morning about it. Hopefully I hear from her soon. I want to know if I could prepare for a medication exam since I know they do that before we meet any manager.
