LITTLE HELP. what hospitals do u think out there provide nursing externships/internships (idk the difference) to nursing students who have 1 year left to graduate RN, BSN ????
im asking because i do live in New Jersey and want an intern/externship in California (Bay Area) for the Summer of 2009
so if any of you guys have any information that can lead me closer to achieving this feat would be much appreciated.

Lefthanded,
Although the terms "externship" and "internship" are used pretty interchageably, they actually refer to whether or not there is any academic credit associated with the course (externship=no).
I have run a few of these programs for organizations in Texas - and they are generally focused on attracting students from the schools that use our facilities for clinical rotations. The whole purpose for these (expensive) programs was to enhance recruiting of high-quality students and facilitate relations with the nursing schools. We did not consider any non-local students.
Maybe CA organizations are different.
