I'm working as a cna right now while I wait to get into nursing school. It's a requirement, but they don't care how long you do it, just that you have worked as a cna within a year of starting the program.
I'll get to my point, would it be flaky to quit after just 3 months?
As far as keeping the job longer to get a reference to help me get an rn job later, I don't think my time spent working in assistant living is going to matter much, whether I'm there 3, 6, or 9 months. I could always get a nurse tech job the last 6 months of my rn program for a job reference, that seems more relevant.
I do enjoy the patient care very much, the other employees, not so much. And I don't want to injure my back before I even become an rn. I do respect my DON though so I don't want to be flaky.
What do you all think? Thanks, Tofutti
