Do Hospitals Pay for RN

I have two questions here. I decided to change careers entering the medical field. If I get my LPN license, are there hospitals or doctors offices that help pay for the RN license or pay part of it? I do not know much about the medical field and was told by someone that once you work in a hospital that they would assist with tuition. Another question is that I have 6 1/2 years missing in my work history (served in the French Foreign Legion) and listing it on previous applications has hurt me. I tried law enforcement and was turned down becasue they could not verify where I was during this time. How is the medical viewing my service in another country? Thank you for your time reading.
