I just needed some advice if anyone can help me. I started off doing nursing to make my parents happy but I really didn't like it until I started working in a hospital as a cna. I went to nursing school but didn't do so well so i withdrew and hoped to retake it again next semester but I didn't know it would be so hard to get back into the program. While i waited i went to LPN school and graduated in 2010. I decided to further my education and do a bridge LPN-RN program and made it into nursing 2 but struggled to pass the class. I missed it by a point so now I am currently waiting to get back into the program. Originally when i started college I wanted to do PT or OT but of course trying to please my parents I didn't go for it. Now im at a point in my life that im regretting not doing what I wanted to do. I even did some volunteer hours for OT at a rehab facility and loved it. Financially school is really expensive so I was looking into OTA program. Am i making a mistake by trying to continue with nursing by trying to get my RN or should I just start all over and do what I originally wanted to do in the first place. Don't get me wrong nursing has its good and bad days but I love helping people. My goal is to eventually work in a children's hospital. I just don't know whether to stick with nursing or start all over again and do something different. Specially with OTA can I go up from there to be an OT in the future? I heard there are only certain schools that do that and there is none here in the state i live in. Please if anyone can give me any advice that would be great.

Hello and Welcome to allnurses.com

The way I look at things like this is life is too short to be miserable in a career chosen for you by others.

Do what you really and truly want to do.

I wish you much good luck. :candy:
