I have a variant of dyscalula; been a Peds nurse for 9 years; went through nursing school-PN and BSN-and have been calculating for sometime now-especially in Peds, you have to check and double check doses. Learning how apply a formula to calculate dosages is the key to success in calculating the correct dosages and preventing med errors.

Find out the resources you need; you may need to take a basic nursing class to get familiar and comfortable with math basics and then go from there.

Best wishes.

Thank you what resources did u look into in college ladyfree28?

I ended up testing at college level basic algebra, however, community colleges always had math help and strategies for helping with understanding math that I took advantage of.
