Are there certain parts of the US which pays RNs more?

Nurses Career Support

Published

I'll be graduating in May with an ADN. I live in Ohio now, but plan on moving somewhere else. I'm not sure where. I just know that I want to live in a bigger city where bands come through on a regular basis, where there is more to do, where there is more diversity, etc.

Because I can go literally anywhere and find a job... I was wondering if there are certain parts of the US which typically pay RNs more, or are in more need of RNs, etc?

Any advice is helpful. Thanks!

Well, yes, there are areas that pay nurses more, but they tend to be the areas with a higher cost of living so you don't necessarily come out ahead. Be sure to look at the cost of living when you are comparing salaries.
