Any Non-BSN RNs doing NP w/ 6mth experience ?

Hi I'm a diploma nursing student with a BS in psych. I came straight out of college & into nursing so Im not really a career changer. When I get my RN in may 09 (hopefully) i intend to work for 6months as an RN before going straight into my masters. The school I will apply for lets me go straight into a NP specialty like traditional entry. I won't be considered a bridge student because I already have a degree so there are no bridge prereqs; except (Community Health Nursing & Leadership and Management in Health Care) included in semester 1.

I am wondering if anyone else has taken this route or something similar & how it worked out for them? Will 6months experience be enough or do I really need the 1year experience that everyone recommends??

Thanks for any input/advice
