would like to know the registration in NZ

  1. 0 Can anyone have similar experience give me some hint? I was trained in Australia, and due to the stupid score 7 in each catalogue in one sitting IELTS i could not register in Australia. I am trying to register in NZ. I have few questions
    1. Do the recognise Australian courses? does any additional training needed? if so how much and how can i apply.
2.I have send them my application today, do they recognise Australian education? i am in step 1, what are the following process?

If you trained in Australia I am surprised you have to do the English exam. Have you spoken to APHRA as I know their rules have changed

Have you completed a full Australian degree or were you given lots of credit for an overseas degree.

New Zealand most likely will accept your Australian degree, but will still need to evaluate your overseas degree as well.

Unfortunately Australian universities take on nursing students without the IELTS of 7in one sitting and often take on students with around 6.5 results, (chasing the overseas dollar) the trouble is these students are only expected to put in english requirements of up to 6.5. They can claim english as second language consideration in exams and essay asessments, many overseas students hang around with otherstudents of the same culture and therefore do not experience much of conversing with the Australian english speaking students and never really improve their english skills, do not pass IELTS 7 in one sitting, therfore still cannot register as a nurse in Australia, as they come from a country where english is a second language, even if they have studied in Australia, they still must have and IELTS 7 to register and need an IELTS of 7 to get a visa for permanent stayif they get a job.

You will still need 7 all round in IELTS with the nursing council in NZ but they do not require it all in one sitting.
