Some questions for a neonatal nurse :)

Nurses Professionalism

Published

I am doing a project for my English class where I have to interview a neonatal nurse. I would really mean a lot and help me if someone could take the time to answer them and write me back!

1. Describe your job: Your job title, responsibilities, what is a normal day like, and is traveling involved, do you need to work weekends, etc.

2. What education do you need for your job?

3. What job experience is necessary or at least preferable for your job?

4. What do you like most about your job?

4. What is most fulfilling?

5. What do you like least about your job?

6. What is least fulfilling?

7. What are the current and future opportunities for your line of work?

8. Are there other career paths to get to your position?

9. What English skills are required for your job?

I would recommend that you look up your local children's hospital (or the hospital in your area that does mother-baby with an added NICU) and ask the nurse manager for an interview. What she can't answer, perhaps her staff can. But those nurses are super-busy. Best of luck.

Specializes in NICU.

The purpose of interviewing someone is to speak to the person face to face. While we represent nurses on this messageboard, you have no way of verifying that I am a NICU nurse or a plummer that had a child in the NICU and can BS NICU terms.
