I was telling my dad that a lot of people on this site who live in Florida have had trouble finding nurse practitioner jobs in Florida that are full time and pay well. My dad told me that the universal healthcare bill that will become effective in 2014 will open up the healthcare market for nurse practitioners and nurses. What do you guys think of this statement? In other words, do you think job opportunities for nurses and midlevels will improve in 2014 due to Obamacare? I know a lot of people are against it, but I've heard a lot of good things about it, especially from my psychiatrist who says that reimbursement for nurse practitioners is going to become closer to that of general family practitioners.

I think it will increase jobs for all medical personnel because many people don't get the medical care they need because they don't have insurance. I think the pay rates may go down because more people will be on Medicare and Medicaid. In other words, less pay raises or none for current employees and lower starting pay for new-hires.
