the magic stethoscope, a children's book written by the nurses as writer's class in the college of nursing and health science, is now ready for sale. in its first week after printing, over 164 copies were sold.

the book, targeted at children 10 - 12, tells the story of 2 children who are whisked through fairview hospital with a magic stethoscope, finding themselves in the midst of many exciting adventures. using the pen name "r.n. hope," the book's authors hope that the true adventures in the book will encourage children to explore nursing as a career.

I particularly like this review about the Magic Stethoscope.

"When I think about nurses, one word comes to mind…. Dedication. It's amazing how they work for 12-hour shifts for a medium pay. Some have the hardest job and models get paid more."

--Loryn Davis, Age 10
