It's always good to see nurses trying to improve efficiency, but this may be pushing it too far ?

I wouldn't mind wearing roller skates to work if they allow =)

well here in trinidad we are not even allowed to wear scrubs unless we specialize in a specific area like peads so i guess rooler skates lolzzzzzzzzzzzzz are out too ,

I'm working agency/per diem currently. Several times, upon finding out I'm assigned to THAT floor (every facility has one), I've told the supervisor that I'd like an extra bowl of Wheaties and a pair of roller skates. At a previous job, one of the RN supervisors wore her Roller Derby gear on Halloween. One of the 2nd shift nurses called in, so the RN stayed and worked the floor for 8 hours in her skates/helmet/pads. THAT'S dedication.

Specializes in Chemo.

sounds like a dagerous place to work. Lol

If you buy nice skates, like the ones figure skaters wear, they can be very comfortable. Of course you have to break them in first. I could so roller skate during a twelve hour shift.

Specializes in Hospice / Ambulatory Clinic.

Most of the nicer skates nowadays have heat molding options so you can mold them to your feet (get this done before you mount the plate and wheels)

And of course you can choose your wheels based on the floor conditions ;)

Specializes in LTC.

I already have patients that try to trip staff on a regular basis- I couldn't imagine the carnage if we were to slip on some skates! XD

Specializes in Telemetry, Progressive Care, Oncology.
Specializes in Trauma, ER, ICU, CCU, PACU, GI, Cardiology, OR.

needless to say, there are times i wish i had a pair of blades with me in order to accomplish all of my duties
