Over a year ago I was prescribed Ativan after an accident with a long rehab, I was stressed out. I ended up using very few of them.

I used half of one before getting on the plane, I'm currently on vacation. It was great, no anxiety about taking off and a long nap! When I get home I'll be doing the formal interview for a new job the next day, I think they want to hire me which sometimes means an drug test in short order.

Can I take half an Ativan for my flight home? Is that prescription too old? What are the rules for old scripts?

For instance, I also have a whole bottle of oxycodones that I never used. Let's say I sprained my ankle badly, can you take one that was prescribed a few months previously for something else?

I think you could get away with taking the oxy because you're taking it prn for the reason it was prescribed and it is not expired. I think you're outta luck with the Ativan if it's expired.

I'll ask my nurse practitioner to give me a prn script for plane travel. I took half of a 0.5 mg tab, it worked like a charm.
