Suspended license

So in November, after being caught diverting, I went in front of the BON. My license was suspended for 90 days and was instructed to start ISNAP.

I've been doing all that's required but my 90 days will

be up February 20th. Do I need to go in front of the BON? If so will somebody contact me or do I need to contact them for an "appointment"? Lord, I just want to go back to work before I suffocate in debt.

Thanks in advance, this forum is so great and you guys always help. ( I would ask my caseworker through ISNAP but she never responds!)

Have you tried contacting anyone at the BON directly? I know in my state, that is near impossible. The last time I tried that in my state I got sent to emails that didn't exist and voice mailboxes that weren't even BON people. I think I was basically given any information that was handy just to turf me off the phone. Our tax dollars at work.

Anyhow, if you've got phone contact for your case manager I'd be calling daily as well as trying to get word from the BON as to your next steps. To leave you flapping in the breeze is inexcusable.

My guess is that the caseworker needs to inform the BON that you are set up with ISNAP, under contract and in compliance. Upon that notice, the BON lifts the suspension. Caseworker needs to do her job so you can go back to doing yours.

Thank you! My caseworker needs to do her job?? Crap, I'm in trouble! í ½í¸í ½í¸

I will cross my fingers and call the BON directly.

Oh wow I'm getting flashbacks. Theoretically my license was never suspended but once I signed my contract I needed permission to return to work which is really a de-facto suspension. This period where I didn't have permission to work lasted about 5 months. I'm surprised I wasn't homeless and the financial ramifications are still huge. Anyway, as soon as I was eligible to return to work I hounded my counselor daily to impress the fact that I was going to be homeless soon if I couldn't go back to work. In a few days I was granted permission. My point is do not be passive. These ignorant fools will totally forget about & really could care less about your plight. Stay on them and Good Luck!!!

I was already through the horrors of the "treatment" mind**** and had finally found a job and had relocated for said job and had been under contract for almost a year when the BON got around to looking at this thing. They sent me a "settlement" offer which stated my license was suspended until I was signed up for the program. Ummm....already done, nitwits. Of course my program (the one that ‘advocates for the impaired nurse') couldn't be bothered to inform the BON that this was done. They advised me to just sign the thing. Last time I take thier advice. All that got me was a fat fine and made the discipline public (that confidentiality you get when you self report, yeah, nope not for me). Oh and my license was suspended for a few days until the BON verified this with the program. Thier response? Oops. Our bad. I kid you not. Idiots.

Everywhere I have turned, in this entire experience, if it could go orifice backwards wrong it has. If there was an opportunity for someone to lie, to be lazy, to not do thier job, to not give a **** it has happened. It's no wonder I am so angry and bitter.

i hope it is not near that difficult for you.

I have already come to the conclusion that they thrive off of us squirming and pleading and worrying. I am slowly losing respect for these people!

But like I said, I love you guys!! Thanks Cats and Spanked!

Do not respect these people. Fear their power and comply with their rules but respect, trust or confidence. Forget about it.

I'd recommend you keep calling, these folks do not have your best interest at heart. I started TPAPN 2/16 self referral, all contracts signed by myself and employer. 5/16 BON decided to suspend my license until I was enrolled in TPAPN, even tho I had certified mailed all documentation to BON. I was never informed by BON of the suspension, it just appeared on the website (my manager and I were checking frequently) on a Friday, I was suspended on the previous Wednesday. Almost got fired for working with a suspended license. BON feels they are protecting the public ..... BS..... The fight is yours, keep swinging

Yours happened pretty much the same way mine did, except nobody was checking the website daily. I actually just happened upon it ACCIDENTALLY!! the weekend after the suspension got handed down (on a Wednesday) I was gathering documentation for an app packet to grad school and went to print my license and BOOM!! This was when I found out that if you've not started grad school when this happens, there's pretty much no hope of getting started until it's over and maybe not even then, if it's public discipline (unencumbered license BS). So yeah, BON carelessness and incompetence (along with program "our real motto is ‘if it ain't about the money, we don't care') I also got suspended for working with a suspended license (and dang near fired.)
