Safe medications when being monitored...

Nurses Recovery

Hi everyone,

I am currently under contract for 5 years and live in Wisconsin. I wanted to know if Claritin is safe to take? Are there ANY safe cold or allergy medications that won't show concern on my urine tests? I asked my case worker and she told me to check with my doctor. I also asked her if my state had a website or a resource that I could reference regarding safe medications and she told me that our state doesn't have that. How frustrating! Sorry to vent, but I hear of some states have a resource for this and how lucky people are to have that :). I know enough to not take ANY mood altering medications including Nyquil, benadryl, sudafed, etc.....am I being too paranoid or is my concern legit??

The Talbott Medication Guide is a good guide to safe drugs. Claritin (not Claritin D) is considered safe as a Class C Drug, although I would certainly verify that with your state.

From Texas, I took clairtan, as well as melatonin. Never had a problem with UA,

In akransas I have taken Claritin-D; I disclosed when I signed the contract that I had a prescription for this despite it being OTC in my state. Have taken Melatonin and Mucinex occasionally. Haven't had any issue with anything in 19 months.

This is the day The Lord has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it.

Do you check in for UDS with Affinity? If so they have a medication guide for meds you can and cannot take.
